    1. Your acads are good and so are GRE and TOEFL score. Admission in top 50 universities doesn’t only depend on these stuffs. Projects, Extra/Co – Curricular Activities, Work Experience, Internships, SOP, LORs and other stuffs are also taken into consideration. Plus we don’t even know which specialization you are opting for.

Have a look at this link.

After reading the article, Better come up with an initial list of universities you are interested in with your Specialization and we could evaluate your Profile better.!

      Hope this helps :)

        2. Do i hv a good pofile to apply fo top 25 univ?

  1. I have an admit from Washington University in St. Louis, There is not comment against it (I am assuming, there is nothing out-standing to note). Also it is really expensive in compare. Is it worth spending so much on it?

  2. i have a GRE score of 316 and a CGPA of 6.0/10.Which universities do i have a chance of getting admission into for a Ms in Computers science

    1. GRE Score is good. CGPA is on a lower side. Well try universities which are in top 50-100.! Chances are very less that you crack the Top 50 ones because the acads are on a lower side.!

And well if you have Publications, Internships, Good Projects and a real good SOP, then it can do wonders.! :)

          1. The fee is for one semester(six credit semester)..the actual fee for a year(15 credits) is around 24,000 usd

  3. My gre score is 313 quants 159 ver 154 awa 3.0

    GRE – 311 (V-144, Q-167)

Acads – 74% (Btech in Mechanical)

How are my chances in getting admissions in Top 50 universities in your list ?

Also are there any other extra requirements that I have to fulfill as am opting for CS though my graduation is in Mech ?

    Thanks in advance,
    Santhosh Aitha

    1. You ll need some real good SOP to explain why are you switching from Mech to CS.! I can’t comment that which universities you can get as you are from Mech and well when the universities will admit you, you would need to take certain Undergrad Courses such as OS, Database etc which will increase the cost of education!

But as you have work ex as software engg, you should be okay! Can try USC, ASU etc

    PROJECTS:-
Micro-controller based Automatic Monitoring System:-In establishments such as small hotels, small offices and clinics, intercoms or calling bells prove to be a costlier option for communication between inmates and the assisting staff since such a provision can be made only for a limited number of points. Here’s a simple and economical room-monitoring system that provides audio-visual identification of the call point. The system also provides feedback to the caller (in the form of busy signal). Using minimal hardware and software, it’s a clean and easy way to communicate.
B.E. Project :-In our project, Distance protection power theft detection and locationidentification we provide a way to detect power theft. Here we make use of a unique technique of PLCC (power line carrier communication). Here,Power line communication (PLC) carries data on a conductor that is also used simultaneously for AC electric power transmission or electric power distribution to consumers. In case of power theft, the meter number of the culprit is sent via the power line to the main power station. This project provides a big hand to vigilance squad to control and detect power theft.

    Mini Projects:-
    Water Level Sensor.
    Mobile Battery Charger.
    Black-Jack game using VHDL.

Can you help me for selecting universities for MS in Fall 2016?

    1. You’ve chosen all the common Univs, while there is nothing bad about this, you need to make sure your profile stands out as many people would be applying to the same schools like you. Make it count by writing a good SOP

  32. Need suggestion for universities only, also comment on chances in UMass Amherst, Rutgers SUNJ and SUNY Stony Brook. Which of top 50 universities should I apply in?

My List: NYU Poly, SUNY Buffalo, NEU, NCSU, TAMU College Station
